When love is in the air and the flowers are in full bloom, there's no better place to hold a wedding than in a garden. The natural beauty of the Botanica Gardens in Wichita, Kansas made it the perfect venue for a Spring wedding. As a Kansas wedding photographer, I've had the pleasure of capturing many Spring weddings, but this event stands out. In this blog post, I will share the story of a beautiful and inspiring wedding gallery.

The Details of this Kansas Wedding

The wedding was held in the Botanica Gardens in Wichita, Kansas. The bride and groom had chosen this location for their special day because of the stunning flowers, the relaxed feel that it would bring to their guests and the fact that there would be a flood of vibrant tuplips surrounding them. When I arrived at the venue, I was greeted with the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers, thousands of vibrant tulips and surrounded by so much green since Kansas had just gotten a lot of rain the week before. The green contrasted the florals and the brides wedding dress perfectly.  The bride and groom had taken care of every detail, from the floral arrangements to the place settings. The flowers were a combination of soft pastel colors and wildflowers to complement the garden's natural beauty. The place settings were elegant and simple, creating the perfect balance with the natural beauty the gardens showed off. The bridesmaids dresses were the prettiest lilac color. Every detail was carefully planned, and as a Kansas wedding photographer, it was an honor to capture it.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was held inside; however, the couple stood next to large windows that stretched from the floor to the high ceiling, still making you feel as if you were sitting in the garden itself during the wedding ceremony. With all the unknowns the weather in Kansas can throw at you, this gives you the best of both worlds ensuring the guests are comfortable. The couple exchanged their vows overlooking a beautiful open area surrounded by tall trees and blooming flowers in the Chinese Garden. The bride looked stunning in her open back, flowy white dress, and the groom surprised the bride with a special private serenade with the guitar she gifted him years ago.  As a Wichita Kansas wedding photographer, it was a moment that I would never forget.

As a Kansas wedding photographer, I (MaktographyMK), was thrilled to capture this beautiful event. The botanical gardens provided an endless variety of backdrops and possibilities for photographs. The photoshoot began with pictures of the bride getting ready, surrounded by her bridesmaids. The bride's makeup was soft and natural with a little sparkle on her eyes, and her hair was pulled back in an elegant half updo. After that, we moved on to the first look photos. The Dad's reaction when he saw his girl was priceless, and I was honored to capture it. Next, we took some romantic and intimate couple shots throughout the garden. The garden created the perfect backdrop for whimsical and romantic shots, as the light danced through the trees and the flowers. The garden was a photographer's paradise, and I was able to capture the beauty of the wedding in its entirety.
